Masters, Supers and Community Football
Masters Football is “Football for fun” and is social football with a touch of competitiveness. Games are played every fortnight across Brisbane with slightly modified rules for player protection. Teams are spread from Coolangatta in the south, Pomona in the north and Ipswich in the west. Games are played with a healthy spirit with games times varying depending upon oppositions and ground availability but generally Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.
At the direction of AFL Masters, the Masters and Supers divisions will be played on opposing weekends in 2015 to avoid players playing two games on the same day. Age limits will be adhered to with no underage players permitted in either Masters or Supers.
Community Football QAFA (B) Central competition is available to predominately Brisbane based clubs such as single team clubs and those with two or more teams in the higher competitions. Often called the “Thirds” this season is the first season Morningside will host a Community team that will train withthe Masters but play each weekend in a competitive environment that includes finals. Games are typically played on a Friday evening or Saturday afternoon.
Players can be any age and skill level within this competition.
